残暑見舞い申し上げます。

A few more days in August and I still haven't redone this site. What have I been doing? Hmmm. Going to pre-screenings, filmings, tutoring, traveling, dinner with friends, purikura, karaoke, watching TV, general fangirling...you know, the usual. The pictures have been updated regularly, so check out the monthly albums to the left for a general idea.

Oh! And most importantly, I got accepted to grad school!!! I'll be moving back to California at the end of October and moving to Boston in January. Whee!

Long time, No post

Can you believe it's June already!? I can't. Somehow I've managed to still be in Japan all this time. But after a trip home and applying to grad school, looks like my time here will soon be coming to an end. I'll try to update a bit more before I leave.

The monthly photo albums are updated regularly, so feel free to check those out.

To all of the new ALTs coming to Hamamatsu and Shizuoka who have stumbled onto my site, welcome. You're coming to a great place.

Happy New Year!

The end of October

For the last weekend of October, I took a four day, three night trip to Osaka to watch Matsuoka Masahiro's JAILBREAKERS at Theater BRAVA. Four times. Each time was fantastic and fully worth it. I also took a few pictures on my last day in Osaka and have posted them on the site starting here.

Before that in the October photo album, there are some shots from around Hamamatsu and Shinjohara station. Autumn is a fantastic time for sunset and cloud shots.

I'll leave you with a shot of Osaka castle that I took right before the final showing of JAILBREAKERS.

25th!

I turned 25 years old on Monday and I spent the weekend with Samantha and Cat in Tokyo topping the trip off with watching Matsuoka Masahiro's play, JAILBREAKERS at the Tokyo Globe. It was the best birthday ever.

And so I've uploaded all of the pictures from October so far. My wonderful Digital Elph 230 started to go fritzy on me so I bought a new camera. I can't say it's much different. I think I'm going to have to take digital camera classes to take some better pictures. I'll be uploading the pictures in between April and October sooner or later. Wow, half a year....

I'll finish off this post with a picture of me after JAILBREAKERS.

Term Completed. ☆ 任期満了

So, it has been a really long time since I have updated. An entire school term passed by. I've been a bit busy. For now, I will give you small tidbits of "now."

  • My three years on the JET Programme have come to an end.
  • I am currently living at my grandmother's and will be for the next couple of months.
  • I've taken on two jobs currently, both teaching English, to make some play money as I am going to three concerts and two plays in the next two months. One concert involves going to Hokkaido. One play involves going to Osaka and the other play involves going to Tokyo. Not to mention the goods.
  • After I finally get settled, I'm going to give this site the overhaul I've been wanting to give it for the past year. But this time, two parts: 1) My three years in Hamamatsu on JET 2) The months after JET
  • Possibly making a third part: 3) Hamamatsu through my eyes. Though that will simply be a remix of 1) and 2)

Any other suggestions or requests or comments will be highly appreciated. I don't think I'm going to have as much time as I originally thought, but I do have a bit more freedom than I have ever had.

Welcome to Hamamatsu ☆ 浜松へようこそ

I know that the new JETs of 2006 have gotten their placements and are currently looking into what kind of place they've been put into. Congratulations to all and especially those 14 coming to Hamamatsu. You're coming to a great city. I am currently the ALT coordinator at the Hama BoE and I will be in contact with you soon. Due to bureacratic stuffs, I can't contact you just yet, but we are working hard to send out your stuff as soon as we can. Feel free to browse through my site for pictures of Hamamatsu. I apologize I haven't updated it, but my Mini Tour of Hamamatsu from last year is pretty valid still.  Though the links to more pictures will no longer be valid because....

Some people may have noticed, but I have deleted a few albums. This is to make space because I have been uploading way more pictures than I had expected. The site will have to go through a major overhaul, but I have no idea when that will happen.

Will update when I can, but today it is the weekend and I am going to a concert, so you will have to excuse me.

Stuffs ☆ 色々

Alrighties, Photo Albums by month have been uploaded. They are nowhere near finished, but I'm making process. If you are looking for the old albums, their links now appear on the lower part of the right side. They will be edited and added to after the months are finished.

Also, the Mini Tour of Hamamatsu from last year will also be updated for the incoming JETs of 2006. This will happen sometime next month. Hopefully. A few things have changed in the past year and this year I want some pictures of the sakura around Castle Park. It won't be a guide to the city, too big and I move in rather small circle on a unique, yet worn, path. But I know enough to show some snippets.

I also want to go back and translate the previous posts into Japanese, but that might not happen for a very long time.

And with that, I leave you with a post-concert picture of a very tired and yet VERY satisfied TOKIO fan.

Hisashiburi! ☆ 久しぶり!

Long time, no post. 3rd term this year has taken more out of me that I had expected, so I haven't been able to work on the site as much as I'd like. But you may have noticed a change to the albums. Slowly but surely, I am going through the pictures I have taken over the past two and a half years and putting them into month-specific albums. So far, only December 2005 and January and February 2006 are finished, but there are some interesting things in there.

Going to Centrair and the snow that kept me from flying out.
